Okinawa, a prefecture in Japan, is well known for its high number of centenarians (people who live to be above the age of 100 and above). What’s more, these so-called elderly people remain sprightly, with their mental and physical faculties in tip-top condition! What then, is their secret to good health and longevity?
It seems like one favourite mottos the Okinawans live by is, “Don’t worry, it’ll all work out.’
Such a simple yet profoundly comforting statement. That is, once it gets into our consciousness.
Citing a few verses (Proverbs 14:30, Proverbs 4:20-22) Pastor Prince explored the root meaning of the original hebrew words and sure enough, time and again, the Bible tells us that healing can come only by relaxing and letting go.
This reminds me of a movie, ‘The 3 Idiots’ which I’ve watched a couple of weeks ago. In the movie, the protagonist’s favourite motto, whenever he gets into a stressful situation, is to place his hand over his own heart and tell himself aloud, “All is well!” Btw, this is one of the BEST movies I have watched so do try to catch it if you haven’t. It’s a Hindi movie but there’re subtitles so it’s ok even if you don’t understand Hindi.
